Morgan Smith

Morgan Smith, a graduate from Columbia College and Mannes College of Music in New York City's Columbia University, was a Seattle Opera Young Artist (1999-2000). In 2001, he made his debut in Billy Budd in the role of Donald. One of the most popular roles in Seattle the actor. Smith has performed roles in 12 other productions since that debut -- including The Count Alamaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni (title role), Silvio in I Pagliacci, Riccardo in I Puritani as well as Peter Niles in Mourning Becomes Electra. Smith has a long-running career as a performer on stages for concerts. Smith made his Dallas Symphony debut in Bach's St. Matthew Passion and as part of his orchestra, the San Antonio Symphony at the North American premiere for Detlef Glanert's orchestral interpretation of Brahms popular cycle, Vier Praludien Und Ernste Gesange. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, the Requiems by Brahms and Faure and Mozart, the Masses of C Minor as well as G Minor written by Vaughan Williams, Bach's B Minor Mass and a variety of Cantatas that include The Handel's Messiah, L'Allegro il Penseroso and the Moderato from the Haydn's The Creation, Lord Nelson Mass and Haydn's The Creation are also included in the concert program.
