
The band was on Boston's club circuit , being led by Frank Connelly their first manager. The band then began to work with Steve Leber, David Krebs, New York managers. The band's debut album, which was titled "Eponymous" was released in 1973. They were signed to a record deal in the year 1972. The album was immediately followed by Get Your Wings, Toys in the Attic, Rocks, and Draw the Line, which helped propel Aerosmith into international fame and recognition. These albums brought legendary hits like "Dream on", Walk This Way, "Sweet Emotion" and "Walk This Way". Aerosmith's five first albums all were multi-platinum. Toys in the Attic and Rocks were also multi-platinum. However, as the decade wore on the frantic pace of touring, recording, being together, and taking substances began to take its toll on the band. Because of their notorious use of heroin and stimulants Tyler and Perry were often referred to as the Toxic Twins. Their relationship is documented in numerous Aerosmith's video releases as well as in the Aerosmith Behind the Music. Tyler is, evidently, more committed to the group was able to feel resentful towards Perry's passive attitude and envied Perry's prioritization of the females in his life. Aerosmith was at a low point around 1980 due to tensions between Perry and Tyler.
